Ankara, Aug 29 (V7N) – Turkey has announced the closure of its airspace to Israeli aircraft and banned the use of Turkish ports by Israeli ships in protest against ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the announcement during a special session of parliament on Friday. He also declared a complete severance of economic relations with Israel.

Fidan criticized Israel’s actions, saying that over the past two years, Tel Aviv has carried out a “genocide” in Gaza while ignoring basic humanitarian values, and called for international accountability. Turkey had earlier halted direct trade with Israel in May last year.
