Moscow, Nov 19 (V7N) — Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Tuesday as part of his three-day visit to Russia.

The Kremlin released a video showing Putin welcoming Jaishankar with a handshake before the meeting. According to a Kremlin statement, several senior Russian officials, including presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, were present. However, the statement did not disclose details of the discussions held behind closed doors.

Jaishankar arrived in Moscow on Monday (November 17) primarily to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) ministerial meeting. On the same day, he met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, where both sides discussed bilateral and international issues and reviewed preparations for the upcoming annual Russia–India summit.

During Tuesday’s talks, Jaishankar briefed President Putin on India’s perspective regarding the forthcoming summit. Representatives from both countries joined the meeting and discussed various matters related to Russia–India cooperation.

Indian officials are currently in Moscow for a series of engagements linked to the SCO summit, underscoring ongoing diplomatic coordination between the two nations.
