New Delhi, Dec 05 (V7N) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Russia will make no concessions regarding the Donbas region of Ukraine, emphasizing that the area will either be liberated by force or Ukrainian troops must withdraw. He made the remarks in an interview with India Today on Thursday.

Currently, 85 percent of Donbas is under Russian control. President Putin stated that while Russia agrees with some US proposals to end the war, it objects to others, without specifying which points.

This statement comes after US President Donald Trump claimed that Putin “wants to stop the war” and sent special envoy Steve Witkoff to meet both Russian and Ukrainian officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated that Ukraine will not concede any part of its territory.

Putin’s comments follow recent Russian successes on the battlefield, which he says have strengthened Russia’s position in the ongoing conflict.
