Dhaka, Feb 27 (V7N) — New York City Mayor Zohrab Mamdani has met US President Donald Trump for the second time in less than four months since his victory in the New York City mayoral election.
The mayor confirmed the meeting in a post on social media platform X on Thursday (February 26), describing the discussion as “very productive.” According to Mamdani, key issues on the agenda included housing initiatives and concerns over the detention of students by federal agents.
Despite their well-known political differences — with Republican leader Trump and Democratic Mayor Mamdani often criticizing each other publicly — the two leaders have maintained direct engagement.
Mamdani previously visited the White House last November shortly after his election victory, where both leaders also exchanged praise, signaling a willingness to cooperate on selected policy matters.
