Iran Feb 28 (V7N) – The United States Embassy in Bahrain announced it will remain closed on Sunday after Iranian missiles targeted Manama, as Tehran launched broad retaliatory strikes across the Gulf following American and Israeli attacks.

“In light of ongoing missile strikes against Bahrain on February 28, the US Embassy in Bahrain will be closed on Sunday, March 1, 2026,” the embassy said in a statement posted on X.

The embassy added that all regular and emergency consular appointments scheduled for Sunday have been cancelled and said further notice will be given when operations resume.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Red Crescent Society said that more than 20 of the country’s 31 provinces have been affected by US and Israeli strikes launched on Saturday. Spokesman Mojtaba Khaledi, quoted by state media, said over 20 provinces had been impacted in the attacks so far.

The Israeli military said it had completed what it described as a “broad strike” targeting Iran’s strategic defence systems, including installations in the western part of the country.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said the operation was guided by military intelligence and included a strike on an advanced SA-65 aerial defence system located in the Kermanshah area in western Iran.

The developments mark a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation, with missile exchanges and air strikes intensifying across the region.
