DHAKA, Feb 22, (V7N) - Despite a stellar bowling performance from captain Fahima Khatun, Bangladesh suffered a 46-run defeat to India in the Asia Cup Rising Stars final at Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok today.

Bangladesh restricted India to 134-7, with Fahima claiming 4-25, including the wickets of opener Dinesh Vrinda and Anushka Shrma. However, the batters faltered, managing only 88 runs in 19.1 overs. Opener Shamima Sultana top-scored with 20, while Sharmin Sultana added 18 and Fahima contributed 14.

India’s Prema Rawat took 3-12, supported by Sonia Mendhiya and Tanuja Kanwar with two wickets each. Earlier, Tejal Hasabins (51 not out) and captain Radha Yadav (36) steadied India with a 69-run fifth-wicket stand.

Bangladesh A Women’s team had earlier topped Group B, defeating Sri Lanka, hosts Thailand, and Malaysia, before beating Pakistan by 54 runs in the semifinal to set up the final clash.
