Tehran, Mar 04 (V7N) — Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump, accusing him of betraying diplomacy in the aftermath of escalating conflict in the Middle East following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a message posted on the social media platform X on Wednesday, Araghchi condemned Trump’s approach as personal vendetta and stubbornness that has worsened the situation, rather than seeking constructive negotiations. He described Washington’s diplomatic style as narrow-minded, comparing it to a “commercial transaction” rather than a genuine peace initiative.
Araghchi asserted that the Trump administration distorted the truth during nuclear negotiations, undermined the atmosphere for dialogue, and ultimately turned to military action, “bombing the negotiating table.” He further stated that Trump has not only betrayed Iran but also misled the American public, creating instability and bloodshed across the region.
The Foreign Minister’s remarks come on the fifth day of the ongoing US-Israeli military attacks in Iran, which have killed hundreds of civilians and sparked international condemnation. Araghchi emphasized that sustainable peace cannot be built on vengeance and deceit, urging the global community to recognize the consequences of such policies.
These statements were reported by Tasnim News Agency and corroborated by CNN, highlighting Iran’s strong diplomatic stance amid the escalating regional conflict.
