Tehran, Mar 22 (V7N)- US President Donald Trump has threatened to strike Iranian power plants amid rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most crucial energy routes. Al Jazeera reports that Trump warned Iran that its power plants would be destroyed if the strait is not fully reopened within 48 hours.
In response, Iran has warned of retaliatory attacks on regional energy and power infrastructure should any such strikes occur. The situation has further intensified due to ongoing clashes between Iran and Israel. Iranian missile attacks have injured many in southern Israeli cities, including Dimona and Arad, prompting Israel to launch large-scale airstrikes on Tehran.
Iran stated that its missile attacks were in retaliation for an assault on its Natanz nuclear facility. Analysts warn that the risk of broader conflicts across the Middle East is increasing, particularly threats to vital energy and infrastructure.
