Beirut, Apr 15, (V7N) - Hassan Fadlallah, a prominent Member of Parliament for the Lebanese political and military group Hezbollah, has alleged that Israel and the United States are utilizing negotiations with Lebanon to mask their strategic failures. According to a report by Al Jazeera, Fadlallah claimed that the current diplomatic maneuvers are a calculated attempt by both nations to cover up their recent defeats in the region.
In an official statement, Fadlallah called upon the Lebanese authorities to urgently reconsider their current diplomatic stance and align themselves more closely with the will of the people. He expressed deep concern over the direction of the government's foreign policy, suggesting that the administration's approach has drifted away from national interests.
The Hezbollah representative also criticized the government's decision to withdraw troops from southern Lebanon, asserting that such a move has left the region vulnerable. He claimed that this strategic withdrawal has provided Israel with an opportunity to act independently and has placed the security of the southern border at significant risk.
Furthermore, Fadlallah addressed the exclusion of Lebanon from the ongoing high-level negotiations between Tehran and Washington in Pakistan. He alleged that while the exclusion of Beirut was a specific Israeli demand, the decision was ultimately facilitated by the Lebanese government's own position, which he argues has sidelined the country from critical regional peace talks.
