New York, Apr 26 (V7N)– New York City Mayor Zohrab Mamdani has strongly condemned the recent attack linked to the White House Correspondents' Dinner, describing it as an act of “political violence” that is unacceptable under any circumstances.

According to CNN, the mayor reacted to the incident on Saturday night (April 25) through a post on social media platform X. He expressed relief that Donald Trump and other guests present at the event were safe.

However, Mamdani emphasized the need for accountability, calling for a fair and thorough investigation into the incident. “Such violence has no place in our political or public life,” he said.

It is noteworthy that Mayor Mamdani has previously held meetings with President Trump, including a visit to the White House earlier this year following his assumption of office.

The incident has raised concerns over security and political tensions, prompting calls from leaders for restraint and the protection of democratic institutions.
