Moscow, May 04 (V7N)- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Moscow is prepared to provide all necessary assistance to help end the ongoing conflict involving Iran and promote lasting peace in the Middle East.

According to a report by Iran’s state-run Fars News Agency, Lavrov made the remarks during a recent telephone conversation with Iran’s foreign minister.

During the discussion, the Russian foreign minister reiterated Russia’s willingness to support diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict and establishing what he described as “permanent peace” in the region.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East and several international issues of mutual interest.

The statement comes amid growing regional tensions and increasing international concern over stability and security in the Middle East.
