Washington, May 11 (V7N)- Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s response to a recent US proposal, calling Tehran’s position “completely unacceptable” amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
According to a report published by the BBC on Monday, details of Iran’s response — reportedly sent through Pakistan acting as a mediator — have not yet been made public.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I have read the response of the so-called representatives of Iran. I do not like it — absolutely unacceptable! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Iranian state television, cited by state media, reported that Tehran’s response focused on ending hostilities across the region, particularly the situation in Lebanon, as well as ensuring the safety of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, the reports did not clarify how or when the strategically important shipping route could be reopened.
Tehran has also reportedly demanded the removal of US economic sanctions and the lifting of naval restrictions imposed on Iran before any negotiations on its nuclear program can move forward.
The latest developments come amid heightened diplomatic tensions and growing international concern over regional security and global energy supply routes.
