Jerusalem, Jun 08 (V7N) – The Israeli military has claimed that multiple missiles were launched from Iran toward Israel, further escalating tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement on Monday, the Israeli army said its air defense systems were actively working to intercept incoming missiles detected from Iranian territory.

Just minutes before confirming the launches, the Israeli military had warned that a major air or missile attack on the country could take place within the next few hours.

The latest developments come after the Israeli military placed its forces on high alert following a deadly Israeli strike on a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, earlier on Monday.

Israeli authorities have not yet provided details on the number of missiles launched, whether any successfully penetrated air defenses, or if there were any casualties or damage.

The situation remains fluid, with military and security agencies closely monitoring developments as fears grow over the possibility of a wider regional confrontation involving Israel, Iran and allied armed groups across the Middle East.
