Gaza, Jul 18 (V7N)- At least 14 people were killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Friday, including eight people who died in a drone strike targeting a funeral gathering in the Al-Balata market area of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.
Witnesses said worshippers had gathered outside the Ahmed Yassin Mosque to attend the funeral of a Palestinian who had been killed in a separate Israeli attack earlier in the day. During the gathering, a drone strike hit the area, killing at least eight people and injuring several others.
The incident was also reported by AFP.
The Israeli military confirmed carrying out the strike, saying it had targeted what it described as a terrorist group operating in central Gaza.
In a statement, the Israeli military acknowledged reports that civilians were injured in the attack and said the incident was under review.
The latest strikes come amid continued hostilities in Gaza, where casualties continue to rise as fighting persists.
