Tehran, Jul 20 (V7N)- Iran will bring an end to its ongoing conflict with the United States, but only after securing an “advantageous position” through military developments, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
In an interview with Iranian state media, Araghchi said the key challenge in managing the crisis is determining the appropriate time to announce a ceasefire and begin negotiations.
Speaking to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the foreign minister said there are two possible ways to end the war — achieving an absolute military victory or reaching an agreement through negotiations.
“The right time for negotiations is when reliable military success and strategic achievements can be ensured,” Araghchi said.
He emphasized that Iran cannot take risks involving the lives of its citizens and the future of the country. According to him, any decision regarding the conflict must be based on careful assessment and comprehensive calculations.
Araghchi also said political leaders must continuously evaluate whether continuing the war would bring greater benefits or result in increased humanitarian and national losses.
His remarks came amid ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, with both sides engaged in military and diplomatic efforts to determine the future course of the conflict.
