Washington, D.C., Jul 29 (V7N) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described his latest meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump as one of the most productive discussions they have held, highlighting close cooperation between the two countries on key security and strategic issues.
In a video message released before departing to attend a memorial service for the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday, Netanyahu said the meeting with President Trump was "extraordinary" and reflected full cooperation between Israel and the United States.
According to Netanyahu, both leaders reaffirmed their shared objective of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. He also said they reached understandings on several other significant issues, although he did not disclose further details.
"This was one of the best discussions I have had with our friend, U.S. President Donald Trump," Netanyahu said, adding that the meeting provided an important opportunity to coordinate the positions of both countries on matters related to Israel's security and future.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu's visit drew demonstrations outside the White House and across Washington, D.C., where hundreds of protesters gathered to oppose his trip to the United States. Demonstrators also referenced the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), which accuses Netanyahu of alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the conflict in Gaza. Netanyahu has rejected the allegations, and Israel disputes the ICC's jurisdiction over the matter.
