Tehran, Aug 04 (V7N)- Iran’s military advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Mohsen Rezaei, has claimed that Tehran canceled a planned operation against three facilities in Ukraine at the last moment after Kiev apologized.
According to a report by Anadolu Agency, Rezaei said in an interview with Iranian state television that the Iranian armed forces had completed preparations for the attack, but the operation was halted following Ukraine’s apology.
His remarks came amid renewed tensions between Iran and Ukraine over allegations of an attack on an Iranian commercial ship in the Caspian Sea.
Rezaei also warned that Iran would not allow any unauthorized route to be used in the Strait of Hormuz and said any hostile military vessel attempting to enter through an “illegal route” would be targeted.
He further claimed that US forces suffered heavy losses during the recent 17-day conflict, although he did not provide any evidence or specific figures to support the claim.
