Mecca, Aug 8 (V7N) – Leaders of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye were seen offering Friday prayers together in Mecca ahead of the signing of a trilateral defense agreement between the three countries.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Mecca on Friday (August 7) to sign the agreement, while Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had arrived earlier. Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the Turkish president.
During the Friday prayers, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan were seen standing together in a single row.
Senior officials from the three countries also participated in the congregational prayers.
The gathering attracted widespread attention on social media, with images and video footage of the leaders praying together circulating widely online.
The Pakistani Prime Minister's Office also shared video footage of the event on social media, while photographs from the occasion quickly went viral.
The prayer gathering came shortly before the three countries signed a trilateral defense pact in Mecca, marking a significant development in their security cooperation and diplomatic relations.
