Former US President Donald Trump reacted strongly to Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel, stating that such an assault would not have occurred if he were still in power. Trump made his comments in a series of messages posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, following reports of the attack, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

In his messages, Trump expressed solidarity with Israel, stating, "God bless the people of Israel. They are now under attack. It would not have happened if I had been in power." He emphasized the close relationship between the United States and Israel, stating that America prays for Israel and supports Tel Aviv.

The attack, carried out by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), involved the firing of dozens of drones and missiles at Israeli territory. While Israel confirmed the attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that most of the missiles and drones were intercepted. However, several missiles did hit a military base in Israel, causing some damage.

Alerts were issued across Israel, including in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, following the onset of the Iranian attack. While there have been reports of injuries, no casualties have been confirmed as of yet.

Iran had been issuing warnings of retaliation since an Israeli attack on its embassy building in Syria on April 1, which resulted in the deaths of at least 16 people. The recent attack on Israel marks a significant escalation in tensions between the two nations, with the repercussions reverberating across the region.
