Tehran, Sep 02 (V7N)- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and military leadership have warned of a stronger response following the latest US strikes on Iranian targets.

On Tuesday, September 1, IRGC spokesman Sardar Mohebbi said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the United States would face “severe punishment” for its latest attack on Iran.

“America will regret its new attack,” Mohebbi said in the brief post.

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a joint warning of a more forceful response against US forces.

According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, the statement warned that a “crushing and devastating blow” would be delivered against American forces.

“The more the US terrorist forces continue their aggressive activities in the region, the more and heavier the losses they will suffer,” the statement said.

The warnings came after the United States launched fresh strikes on several IRGC targets in Iran on Tuesday.

Washington said the attacks were carried out in response to what it described as recent attempts by the IRGC to target commercial vessels and US troops in the Strait of Hormuz.
