Washington, Sep 16 (V7N)- The United States has urged its citizens to reconsider travel to Saudi Arabia amid heightened security concerns linked to the ongoing conflict involving Saudi Arabia and Yemen, Al Jazeera reported.
The advisory was published Wednesday (September 16) on the US State Department's international travel website.
According to the notice, US citizens in Saudi Arabia face potential risks from Iranian drone and missile attacks targeting US interests in the country.
The State Department also cited other risks, including armed conflict, terrorism, possible exit bans and restrictions under Saudi laws concerning social media use.
The advisory further warned US citizens about elevated security risks in specific areas of Saudi Arabia and urged travelers to exercise increased caution.
Meanwhile, the US State Department continues to maintain a Level 4—Do Not Travel advisory for neighboring Yemen, reflecting the heightened security risks there.
