New York, Sep 22 (V7N)- Members of the Iranian delegation walked out of the United Nations General Assembly hall as US President Donald Trump discussed the possibility of US military action against Tehran.
The Iranian representatives reportedly left the session in protest as Trump outlined his position on US actions against Iran while addressing world leaders in New York on Tuesday.
During his speech, Trump defended the need for the United States to act against threats before they become more difficult to address. He said unresolved problems should not be allowed to worsen over time.
“As President of the most extraordinary nation in history, I have no interest in letting danger grow for even one more day,” Trump said.
He added that he did not believe in allowing problems to “fester” in ways that could make them more difficult to resolve later.
The Iranian delegation's departure came as Trump was discussing US military action against Iran, highlighting the continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The incident drew attention at the UN General Assembly, where the two countries remain at odds over military actions, security concerns and Iran’s nuclear program.
