Washington, Oct 03 (V7N)- US President Donald Trump has said Washington will soon make a decision on how to proceed with Iran, suggesting the conflict could end through an agreement or further action.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said the situation was moving in a positive direction but described conditions in Iran as difficult. He did not provide details about what decision his administration might take or when it would be implemented.

Trump has repeatedly said in recent days that the conflict will end “one way or another.” He has indicated that the United States is weighing whether to reach an agreement with Tehran or resume further military action.

In remarks in Texas, Trump claimed that Iran's economy and military capabilities had been severely weakened. He said Iran was facing extremely high inflation and argued that its military, navy and air force had been effectively defeated.

Those assessments are Trump's claims and were not independently established in the remarks. Other reporting has confirmed that the conflict has significantly affected Iran's military capabilities, while the broader economic and military situation remains contested.

Trump also said the conflict would end quickly and predicted that oil prices would fall sharply once the fighting stops. “One way or the other, it's going to end very quickly,” he said.

The president has previously linked the conflict to efforts to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. His administration has also said Washington remains prepared to pursue a deal if Tehran agrees to US demands.

Trump's latest comments come as uncertainty continues over the next stage of the conflict and possible negotiations between Washington and Tehran. The administration has yet to announce a specific new course of action.
