Iran's Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani unveiled two new air defense systems named 'Arman' and 'Azrakhsh' during a ceremony in Tehran. These systems represent the pinnacle of Iran's indigenous defense technology, offering enhanced capabilities to counter aerial threats.

The Arman system, described as a medium-range advanced strategic defense system, boasts the ability to detect and neutralize targets within a range of 180 km, with a destruction range of up to 120 km. Equipped with advanced three-dimensional radar and optical search systems, the Arman system can be combat-ready in under three minutes.

Complementing the Arman system, the Azrakhsh system is designed to address smaller-scale aerial threats, including drones. With sophisticated detection devices and high-tech capabilities, the Azrakhsh system provides Iran with a significant advantage in neutralizing aerial threats during both day and night operations.

Iran's Irina news agency reported that the Arman system is capable of intercepting ballistic missiles in mid-air, while the Shahed three missiles deployed in the system can effectively detect and destroy heat-conducting objects in the sky. The Azrakhsh system further enhances Iran's defense posture by thwarting various small threats, including drones.
