Washington, Oct 17 (V7N)- US President Donald Trump has denied ordering a temporary disruption of Starlink services for the Ukrainian military, saying he was not aware of any interruption to the satellite internet service.
Trump made the remarks during a press conference at the White House on Friday, October 17.
“I did not make the decision to suspend access to the Starlink service. I don't think Elon Musk did either. As far as I understand, it is the same as before. There has been no disruption,” Trump said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Starlink had not been completely shut down in Ukraine. However, he noted that access had been restricted for certain military and humanitarian purposes because of speed limitations.
Speaking on the sidelines of a summit of European Union leaders in Brussels, Zelensky said Kyiv had received indications from the White House that the service would be fully restored.
Starlink, operated by Elon Musk's SpaceX, provides satellite internet connectivity that has played an important role in Ukraine's military communications and civilian services during the war with Russia.
