Tehran, Nov 02 (V7N)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Tehran remains prepared to defend itself while continuing to hope for a diplomatic solution to ongoing tensions with the United States.
He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists on Sunday, November 1.
Araghchi said the outcome of the ongoing negotiations mediated by Qatar would depend on Washington's response to Iran's proposed conditions.
He added that Tehran is awaiting a response from the United States regarding the conditions put forward during the diplomatic process.
An Iranian delegation travelled to Qatar on Saturday to continue discussions with mediators as part of efforts to make progress in the negotiations. However, no final decision has been reached so far.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed hope that Washington would make a rational decision and choose the path of diplomacy to resolve the ongoing differences.
Araghchi's remarks indicate that Iran is keeping diplomatic channels open while maintaining its readiness to defend itself amid continued uncertainty over the negotiations.
