Today marks the commencement of the fourth phase of the Indian Lok Sabha elections, with voting set to transpire from 7 am to 6 pm local time. This phase encompasses 96 seats across 10 states of the nation.
A total of 25 constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, 17 in Telangana, 13 in Uttar Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, and eight each in Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal are participating in the electoral process. Additionally, five constituencies in Bihar, four each in Odisha and Jharkhand, and one in Jammu and Kashmir will witness polling.
Among the 1,717 candidates vying for victory in this phase are prominent figures such as Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury, Samajwadi Party stalwart Akhilesh Yadav, and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Weisi. Notable contenders also include former cricketer Yusuf Pathan, Keerti Azad, Shatrughan Sinha, Mahua Maitra, Amrita Roy, actress Shatabdi Roy, and BJP leader Dilip Ghosh.
