Iran's intelligence agency has announced that it is actively monitoring presidential candidates and their supporters ahead of the upcoming election. This information was reported by the Tasnim News Agency on Thursday, June 6.

The intelligence agency has issued a stern warning that any propagation of extremism will result in prosecution. The Press Supervisory Board of Iran has also released directives regarding the election, specifying that activities such as election boycotts, propaganda, unauthorized protests, gatherings, and strikes will be deemed criminal offenses. Those found guilty could face severe punishments, including up to 74 lashes.

Iran's presidential election is scheduled for June 28. A total of 80 candidates have registered to participate in the election, highlighting a highly competitive race.

This surveillance and strict warning underscore the government's intention to maintain tight control over the electoral process and to deter any actions that might destabilize the political environment during the election period.
