9 Pakistanis were killed by gunmen in Iran. Three others were injured. The killing took place on Saturday (January 27) in the country's Sistan-Baluchistan province.

According to Iranian state media, three gunmen attacked a mess in Saravan, a city bordering Pakistan. Police are searching for them. All the dead were Pakistani workers. They worked in a car repair factory. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killings.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has demanded a speedy investigation into the incident and bringing the culprits to justice. Recently, tensions have flared between Iran and Pakistan due to retaliatory attacks on each other's territory. Diplomatic measures like withdrawal of ambassadors are also taken. Later the situation calmed down due to discussion. On Monday, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollah is scheduled to visit Pakistan.
