Paris, July 9 – Two flintlock pistols once owned by former French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte have been sold at auction in Paris for €1.69 million. The sale took place last Sunday, according to a report by CNN News.

The pistols, dating back to the 19th century when Napoleon ruled the French Empire, were reportedly considered by the Emperor for use in a suicide attempt. These historical artifacts, crafted by Parisian gunmaker Louis-Marin Gosset, are inlaid with gold and silver and feature an engraved profile image of Napoleon.

The auction saw these rare pieces of history fetch a price equivalent to over 21 crore 51 lakh 15 thousand Bangladeshi taka.

The pistols' sale highlights the enduring fascination with Napoleon Bonaparte and his era, reflecting the significant value placed on items connected to his legacy.
