Washington, D.C. 12 July – President Joe Biden has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the US administration is actively working to broker a ceasefire. In a statement on Thursday (July 11), Biden revealed that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to his written peace plan.

The US President highlighted ongoing efforts to finalize an agreement, despite his support for Israel, and expressed criticism of the wartime cabinet's actions.

"For several months, the United States has been striving to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza, facilitating the return of hostages and establishing peace in the Middle East," Biden remarked. "The written plan I presented six weeks ago has received approval from the UN Security Council and the G-7. I am determined to implement the agreement. This war must stop now."

The international community awaits further developments as efforts continue to bring peace to the region.
