New York , 13 July— Elon Musk, the world's richest man, has reportedly donated to America PAC, a group working to support Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election, according to Bloomberg via Reuters.
Although the exact amount of the donation was not specified, it is believed to be a substantial sum. Details about the donors and the amounts are expected to be released on July 15.
Donald Trump has recently surpassed incumbent President Joe Biden in fundraising efforts, according to Bloomberg. This development comes despite a tweet from Musk in March this year, where he stated that he is not donating to any candidate and denied any association with Trump.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has been a vocal critic of President Joe Biden. His criticism has been widely reported in the media.
Meanwhile, Biden has been under pressure to withdraw from the presidential candidacy following a challenging TV debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump last month. Several lawmakers from Biden's own party have also called for him to step down. However, Biden reaffirmed his candidacy at a campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan on Friday, stating, "I'm not going anywhere, I'm the Democrat candidate."
