Moscow, 16 July- Russian President Vladimir Putin has refrained from meeting or communicating with former US President Donald Trump after an assassination attempt left Trump injured. According to the news agency Reuters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin has no desire to engage with Trump following the incident.

Peskov elaborated on the situation, stating that the threat to Trump's life became more imminent after several attempts to remove him from the political arena. Despite proposals to enhance Putin's security measures in light of the attempt on Trump's life, the Russian president has rejected them.

While world leaders have expressed their condolences to Trump, Putin remains notably absent. Even 24 hours after the attack, there has been no contact between Putin and the Republican candidate. Peskov reiterated that there is no intention for communication from Putin's side.

The assassination attempt occurred last Saturday (July 13) during an election rally in Pennsylvania. Trump was injured but survived the attack.
