Kyiv, July 17— Ukrainian forces have launched a series of attacks on key facilities in Russia, including military equipment factories, according to a report by Al Jazeera. The attacks, carried out on Tuesday, targeted several sites, including a factory in Kursk and areas in Belgorod.
A drone attack on a factory in Kursk caused an explosion and subsequent fire at a facility manufacturing electrical equipment. The fire was brought under control after an overnight effort, but the incident resulted in significant damage.
In Belgorod, four Russian citizens were wounded by Ukrainian shelling. Additionally, two other individuals were injured in separate drone attacks in other regions of Russia. Despite these incidents, Moscow has not officially reported any casualties.
In response, Russian authorities claimed to have destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow. The attacks mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two countries, further intensifying tensions in the region.
The Ukrainian military has not commented on the attacks, and the international community is closely monitoring the developments. These attacks represent a continuation of the aggressive tactics employed by both sides in the protracted conflict, with civilians increasingly caught in the crossfire.
