A statement from Buckingham Palace stated, "A separate issue of concern was noted during The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement." "Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."

"A schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties," was announced by the palace. "As usual, Charles will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork during this time," the palace stated.

The cancer's nature, stage, and mode of treatment have not been disclosed by the palace.

Charles underwent surgery to correct an enlarged prostate, and one week ago, on January 29, he was released from The London Clinic, according to Buckingham Palace. After a "short period of recuperation," the palace announced at the time, Charles was anticipated to resume public activities.

"He is still entirely satisfied with his care and eager to get back to doing his official duties as soon as feasible. In order to quell rumors and promote awareness for all cancer sufferers worldwide, His Majesty has decided to make his diagnosis public."

A royal source claims that Charles told his siblings and children directly.

Prince Harry has spoken with his father and is scheduled to visit him in the UK in the near future.

A spokeswoman for the palace stated that Queen Camilla will carry on with her public responsibilities.
