Sacramento, Sep 10 (V7N) –As the U.S. presidential election campaign heats up between Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump, a new scandal has rocked the political landscape. California State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil is at the centre of a sexual harassment lawsuit, accused of using her former chief of staff, Shad Condit, as a "sex slave."

Condit filed a lawsuit last Thursday in Sacramento County Superior Court, accusing the senator of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Condit claims he was subjected to years of unwanted sexual contact in order to maintain job security, alleging that Alvarado-Gil pressured him into sexual activities. He further asserts that he was fired in December 2023 after refusing to comply with one of her demands.

According to the lawsuit, Condit suffered significant physical and emotional damage, including back injuries that required surgery, as a result of Alvarado-Gil's actions. The lawsuit includes claims for monetary damages, citing mental anguish and loss of income following his dismissal.

Alvarado-Gil's legal team has denied all accusations, with her lawyer, Ognyan Gavrilov, labelling Condit's allegations as "false" and "financially motivated," accusing him of fabricating the story in a bid for compensation.

This scandal has added another layer of tension to an already polarised political atmosphere as the U.S. moves towards the December presidential election, with public interest in the case spreading rapidly across social media.
