Oct 02, V7N - LeBron James expressed that while he feels he has nothing left to prove in his basketball career, he remains excited for the upcoming NBA season, which will be his 22nd and his first playing alongside his son, Bronny. The Los Angeles Lakers forward, a four-time NBA champion and the league's all-time leading scorer, also led Team USA to a gold medal at the Paris Olympics this summer, marking his third Olympic title.

When asked about his career, James said, "Is there anything left for me to achieve as a basketball player? No. Everything now is just extra credit, and I’ll gladly take it because I love what I do, but I’ve already accomplished everything." This season, James will fulfill a long-held dream of playing with his 19-year-old son Bronny, whom the Lakers drafted with the 55th pick.

As LeBron approaches his 40th birthday in December, he described the experience of sharing the court with his son during Tuesday’s practice as "amazing." Under the leadership of first-time head coach JJ Redick, LeBron aims to be an "extension of the coaching staff on the floor," leading by example and using his authoritative voice to guide the team.

Reflecting on areas for improvement following the Lakers' first-round playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets last season, James stressed the need for better transition defense. "We need to hold each other accountable, support one another, and push for more," he said in response to how the Lakers could become a top-five defense this season.

The Lakers will begin their regular season on October 17 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
