Bangladesh fast bowler, Mustafizur Rahman, has been given the green light to fly back to Dhaka after a harrowing head injury during a practice session with the Comilla Victorians on February 18. The incident occurred when he was struck on the head by a shot from batter Matthew Ford while returning to his run-up.

Fortunately, scans conducted at Imperial Hospital in Chattogram revealed no signs of internal bleeding, easing concerns for the talented pacer. Mustafizur received five stitches for the wound and underwent a second CT scan, which reaffirmed his condition as stable.

In a statement released by the Comilla Victorians, physio SM Zahidul Islam Sazal confirmed Mustafizur's fitness to travel, stating, "After receiving the fit to fly certificate, we have transferred Mustafizur Rahman from Chattogram Imperial Hospital to the Dhaka team hotel." However, he emphasized that the bowler will remain under observation, with dressing scheduled for the next three days.

The Comilla Victorians further stated their plans to consult with a neurosurgeon again on February 23 to ensure Mustafizur's full recovery. Despite this setback, the team remains optimistic as his wound is reported to be clean and healing steadily.

Mustafizur's injury comes at a crucial juncture with the Sri Lanka series looming, posing a challenge for Bangladesh as the left-arm pacer has been a key asset in their white-ball cricket squad. Despite recent fluctuations in form, his absence would be keenly felt by the team as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
