The Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sport, orchestrated a 7.5 km run at Hatirjheel to advocate for reducing air pollution and fostering a greener city environment. This initiative named the BYLC Running with Purpose 2024 event and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, attracted approximately 1000 participants from various backgrounds, as per a press release.

The run aimed to raise awareness about the significance of clean air and sustainable urban development, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (good health and wellbeing) and 11 (Green City). By mobilizing youth, children, and adults to traverse part of the city, the event underscored the imperative of combating air pollution and enhancing green spaces.
