Cox’s Bazar, Feb 13, (V7N) – In celebration of the Youth Festival with the goal of building a new Bangladesh, a rally and Taekwondo competition were held in Cox’s Bazar on February 12.
The event, organized in collaboration with the District Administration, District Sports Organization, and the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation, began with a rally in the morning.
The rally, under the slogan "Let’s Change the Country, Let’s Change the World," started from the Birshreshtha Ruhul Amin Indoor Stadium and proceeded around Stadium Road.
After the rally, the Taekwondo competition's opening ceremony took place at the indoor stadium, with Mohammad Salahuddin, the District Commissioner, serving as the chief guest. In his address, the District Commissioner emphasized that Taekwondo is not only a sport that enhances physical fitness but also teaches discipline. He stated that young athletes involved in such sports can acquire important life skills while growing into well-rounded individuals.
The event, presided over by Mahmudul Islam Rana, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation, also featured speeches from Nizamuddin Ahmed, Additional District Commissioner; Mainuddin Milk, District Sports Officer; Sheikh Md. Abdullah, District General Secretary of the Taekwondo Federation; and sports organizer Sarwar Rommon, among others.
The event was attended by Taekwondo players, national and district federation members, and their guardians.
After the competition, awards were presented to the winning athletes. A total of 250 players from various Taekwondo organizations in the district participated in the event.
