Rajshahi, Aug 17 (V7N) - The formal inauguration of the "Taekwondo Advanced Training Workshop 2025" was held on Saturday at 4:00 PM at the Rajshahi District Sports Association Hall. The event was graced by Honorable Afiya Akhtar, the District Commissioner and District Magistrate of Rajshahi, as the chief guest.

Among the distinguished guests were Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, District Sports Officer of Rajshahi, Mohammad Rezaul Karim, President of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union, S.M. Salauddin Raton, Vice-President of the Rajshahi Division Taekwondo Association, Mohammad Mojafar Hossain Bulu, General Secretary and Chief Trainer of Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang, and Mumit Hasan Bright, General Secretary and Chief Trainer of the Rajshahi Division Taekwondo Association. Additionally, Grandmaster Ju Sang Lee from South Korea, 8th Dan Black Belt and Kukkiwon-approved Poom Dan Examiner (1st Division), was also present. The event was presided over by Mohammad Sekendar Ali, Acting President of the Rajshahi Division Taekwondo Association.

In her inaugural address, Chief Guest Honorable Afiya Akhtar expressed her gratitude towards the parents for encouraging their children to participate in sports. She emphasized that Taekwondo is not only about physical fitness but also about discipline, mental resilience, and building a positive life. She firmly believes that with the support of the parents, the children of today will become the pride of not only Rajshahi but also the entire country. The children of today are the world-class athletes and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

During his speech, Mohammad Rezaul Karim, President of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union, highlighted that Taekwondo is more than just a sport. It is an incredible tool for instilling discipline, self-confidence, and patriotism among the youth. He stated that the workshop in Rajshahi will play a crucial role in preparing athletes for international standards. He also expressed hope that such initiatives will open new horizons for Bangladesh’s sporting future.

Mumit Hasan Bright, General Secretary and Chief Trainer of the Rajshahi Division Taekwondo Association, stated that Rajshahi is not only known for its education and culture but also as an emerging hub for sports. He expressed confidence that through Taekwondo, they aim to develop athletes from Rajshahi who will bring international recognition to Bangladesh. He believes this workshop will be a unique milestone on the path to global success for their athletes.

The workshop is organized by the Rajshahi Division Taekwondo Association with approval from the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation, training support from the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union, and overall cooperation from the Rajshahi District Sports Association. The training workshop will be held from August 16 to August 22, 2025, spanning seven days, during which participants will enhance their strategic skills, discipline, and prepare for competition at international standards.
