DHAKA, Feb 19,(V7N) - State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque today extended best wishes to the Bangladesh women’s football team as they departed Dhaka for Australia to compete in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup from March 1–21.

“This is a golden chapter in the history of Bangladesh’s sports. Our women’s football team is going to compete on Asia’s highest stage for the first time. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all players, coaches and officials,” Haque said in a ministry release.

He praised the team’s determination, noting that “our girls have repeatedly proven that with indomitable will and hard work, any obstacle can be overcome.”

The state minister added that the achievement reflects not only the progress of women’s football but also the broader empowerment of women in building a sports-friendly Bangladesh.

Expressing confidence in the squad, Haque said: “Your fighting spirit, regardless of victory or defeat, will showcase Bangladesh’s identity to the whole world.”
