Mohammedan Sporting Club showcased their prowess in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Hockey League with a resounding 7-2 victory over Bangladesh Sporting Club at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Experienced player Dwin Islam Emon led the charge for Mohammedan, securing a hat-trick with three goals, while contributions from Shofiul Islam Shishir, Md Shimul Islam, Amirul Islam, and Malaysian recruit Fitri Bion Sari added to the team's impressive tally.
Despite efforts from Sajib Islam and Indian recruit Cheranjeet Singh, who scored one goal each for Bangladesh Sporting Club, Mohammedan's dominance remained unchallenged throughout the match.
With this victory, Mohammedan Sporting Club ascended to the top of the league table with 26 points from ten matches, while Bangladesh Sporting Club maintained their eighth position with eight points, having played the same number of matches.
Fitri Bion Sari set the tone for Mohammedan with a field goal in the 9th minute, followed by Emon's contribution with a field goal in the 16th minute. Amirul and Shimul extended Mohammedan's lead with goals in the 17th and 23rd minutes, respectively.
Shishir further widened the gap with a goal in the 25th minute, while Emon showcased his skill with two additional goals in the 29th and fourth quarters. Sajib scored Bangladesh Sporting Club's first goal in the third quarter, but Emon's third goal sealed Mohammedan's victory.
Cheranjeet Singh managed to reduce the margin with a goal in the 55th minute, but it was not enough to stop Mohammedan Sporting Club's dominating performance.
