CONMEBOL, the organizer of Copa America 2024, has criticized Hard Rock Stadium officials and local authorities following a security breach by fans without tickets before the tournament's final on Sunday. In a statement released Monday, CONMEBOL attributed the security lapses to the decisions made by Hard Rock Stadium authorities under the contractual obligations for security operations.

CONMEBOL stated that they had recommended proven procedures for such events, which were not implemented by the authorities. They expressed regret over the acts of violence by some individuals, which marred what was supposed to be a major sports celebration.

The Copa America final saw 27 arrests and 55 ejections from Hard Rock Stadium, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported responding to 120 incidents, including 116 medical-related matters, during the event at the stadium, which is usually the home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins.
