Bangladeshi right-winger Sanjida Akter created history by becoming the first foreign female player to score for Kolkata East Bengal Club in the Indian Women's (Football) League. Despite her impressive goal, Kolkata East Bengal Club faced a 1-3 defeat against Kickstart FC of Karnataka at the East Bengal Club ground in Kolkata.

Sanjida Akter, often hailed as the poster girl of Bangladeshi football, showcased her talent by netting the only goal for her team in the 48th minute through a brilliant free kick from approximately 40 yards. This remarkable achievement occurred in her second appearance for Kolkata East Bengal Club.

Despite Sanjida's contribution, Kickstart FC dominated the first half with a 2-0 lead, courtesy of goals from Aruna Bag, Sonia Marak, and Karishma. Bangladesh captain Sabina Khatun, who played for Kickstart FC in the Indian Women's League, did not manage to score in the match despite her team's victory.

In the seven-team Indian Women's League standings, Sanjida Akter's East Bengal Club holds the 6th position, securing four points. On the other hand, Sabina Khatun's Kickstart FC is placed 3rd with 17 points.

While the match result did not favor Kolkata East Bengal Club, Sanjida Akter's historic goal adds a significant chapter to her career, showcasing the growing impact of Bangladeshi women's football on the international stage.
