SEOUL, Aug 27 (v7n)- Tottenham-bound teenager Yang Min-hyeok has received his first international call-up as he was included in South Korea's squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The 18-year-old forward, who signed with the Premier League club last month, will officially join Tottenham in January after the conclusion of the South Korean season with Gangwon FC.

Yang was selected by South Korea's new coach, Hong Myung-bo, as the national team begins the final round of their World Cup qualifying campaign. They will face Palestine at home on September 5 and then travel to Oman for an away match on September 10.

In addition to Yang, the squad also features notable players like Captain Son Heung-min, Bayern Munich's Kim Min-jae, and Paris Saint-Germain's Lee Kang-in.

Yang has been impressive this season, scoring eight goals for Gangwon FC, who currently lead the K-League table after 28 games. Coach Hong praised the teenager's performance, stating that Yang's achievements this season warranted his inclusion in the national team. Hong expressed hope that Yang would make a positive impact, given the high expectations surrounding him.

Hong Myung-bo took over as South Korea's coach last month, following the departure of Jurgen Klinsmann after the Asian Cup in February. South Korea is aiming to qualify for their 11th consecutive World Cup.
