Sept 17, V7N - Rookie Kyle Manzardo hit a clutch two-run homer in the eighth inning to propel the Cleveland Guardians to a 4-3 comeback win over the Minnesota Twins on Monday night. The Guardians, leading the American League Central, overcame a 3-0 deficit, securing their third straight victory.

Minnesota's reliever Griffin Jax (4-5) had escaped a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning but was unable to hold the lead in the eighth. After Josh Naylor doubled, Manzardo crushed a go-ahead home run, marking his third career homer in just his 43rd game. The Twins, struggling with a 9-18 stretch, hold the third AL wild-card spot despite the loss.

Cleveland’s starter, Matthew Boyd, lasted just 2 2/3 innings, giving up three runs (two earned), but five Guardians relievers stepped up, allowing just three hits for the rest of the game. Angel Martinez led Cleveland’s offense with three hits and an RBI.

Twins starter Pablo Lopez pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out four. Minnesota took a 3-0 lead in the third inning, highlighted by Byron Buxton's two-run single after a passed ball allowed Carlos Correa to score the first run.

Emmanuel Clase earned his 46th save, tying Cleveland's single-season franchise record for saves.
