India, August 5 (V7N) - India’s Bharti Airtel, through its digital services unit Xtelify, announced the launch of a new cloud platform and AI-powered software solutions on Monday, August 4. The initiative targets enterprise clients and telecom operators, aiming to accelerate digital transformation across key markets. The launch is supported by strategic partnerships with major telecom providers including Singapore's Singtel, the Philippines’ Globe Telecom, and Airtel Africa.
According to a company statement, the new Airtel Cloud platform includes infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings, enabling secure migration, scalable architecture, and integrated business applications.
The AI-powered software suite for telecom operators features a robust data engine, workforce optimization tools, and customer engagement modules. These solutions are designed to enhance service quality, increase operational efficiency, and boost average revenue per user (ARPU)—a core performance indicator for telecom providers.
As part of the rollout, the platform will support functionalities such as AI-driven workforce management, omnichannel customer support, and real-time engagement analytics. Airtel emphasized that these offerings aim to address growing demand for intelligent, scalable digital solutions across the telecom sector.
India's push toward localized cloud data infrastructure aligns with the launch. According to a 2024 report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), India’s cloud services market was valued at $8.3 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to $24.2 billion by 2028. Despite this growth, the market remains dominated by global players, making Airtel’s entry into cloud and AI infrastructure significant from a national digital sovereignty standpoint.
This move follows Airtel’s recent partnership with AI-powered search platform Perplexity, which includes offering a one-year complimentary subscription to Airtel’s 360 million users.
The announcement underscores Airtel’s ambition to expand its digital services footprint and compete with global tech providers in the high-growth AI and cloud ecosystem.
