Washington D.C., Oct 05 (V7N)— U.S. President Joe Biden has revealed that discussions are underway regarding a possible Israeli attack on Iran's oil facilities in response to Iran's missile strike on Israel. Biden's comments came during a press briefing at the White House, following questions from reporters about potential Israeli military action against Tehran.

When asked directly whether Israel might target Tehran's oil infrastructure, Biden responded, "We are discussing." His remarks caused a sharp 5 percent increase in crude oil prices in the international market, reflecting concerns over potential disruptions to global oil supply.

Despite the discussions, Biden expressed hope that an all-out conflict could be avoided. "I think we can avoid that," he stated, while reaffirming U.S. support for Israel. "But we will help Israel," he added, without providing further specifics.

Biden also clarified that he does not support an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, emphasizing that nothing was expected to happen immediately.

Meanwhile, Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, spoke with CNN, saying, "There are many options for retaliation. We will soon be able to show Tehran how strong we are." His statement follows Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's pledge to retaliate after Tuesday's missile attack from Iran.

Iran, for its part, remains defiant. President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that his country is prepared to respond to any aggression. "If there is any kind of terrorist, militant attack or if someone crosses the border, then our army will respond to it," Pezeshkian said, signalling Tehran's readiness for further escalation if provoked.

The growing tensions between Israel and Iran have raised fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East, with global markets already feeling the impact.
