ANKARA,Dec 09, (V7N) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin stand as the only "experienced" world leaders today, citing their lengthy tenures in office. Erdogan, who has led Turkey for 22 years, noted the departure of several prominent global leaders, such as Germany's former Chancellor Angela Merkel, as a sign of the dwindling number of veteran politicians.

Erdogan emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue with global leaders and referenced the enduring relationship between Turkey and Russia. He also expressed respect for former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder, highlighting Schroder's cultural sensitivity during visits to Turkey, such as refraining from drinking beer during Ramadan meals.

The remarks underline Erdogan's focus on fostering bilateral relationships and his perception of global leadership as heavily influenced by experience and continuity in office. This perspective aligns with his broader emphasis on political stability and long-term governance as key to addressing international and domestic challenges.
